Memorandum on construction of a railway to “Zvartnots” airport signed

Director General of “SCR” Victor Rebets, Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia Manuk Vardanyan and “Armenia-International Airports” CJSC General Manager Marcello Vende signed a memorandum on construction of a railway to “Zvartnots” Armenian international airport.

The length of the railway to the airport will make 7800m and the new railway branch will make 5350 meters out of the total length. It’s also planned to build a railway tunnel at a length of 810m.

The implementation of the project will allow linking the passenger terminal of “Zvartnots” airport to the “Charbakh” metro station through the railway and cargo terminal – to “Karmir Blur” railway station.

The sides agreed on construction of a railway line at a maximum short period of time within the cooperation between the state and public sector.
